Just wanted to say what a wonderful thing you are doing making all these notes come alive again. The women who wrote them would have been pleased, I think, to see how they are being used. I'm going to study your blog some more and hope it's ok to link to you from mine.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14550392963931725159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798291436358447813.post-82959256399356900732011-04-01T12:35:42.259-04:002011-04-01T12:35:42.259-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14550392963931725159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798291436358447813.post-45040735410397711162011-03-18T21:48:48.693-04:002011-03-18T21:48:48.693-04:00Drat, I meant to say the blocks of 8x8 squares cou...Drat, I meant to say the blocks of 8x8 squares could be separated horizontally, so that there would be square 8x8 checkered blocks separated both horizontally and vertically with narrower p3k3 bands.=Tamarnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798291436358447813.post-28710172920955468432011-03-18T21:45:07.761-04:002011-03-18T21:45:07.761-04:00How's this:

There is room for two 64-stitch blocks, separated in the middle by a p3k3 vertical stripe, and bordered on each end by another p3k3 vertical stripe (which could also be alternated to make the dividers checkered). Then there are the familiar p2 on each end. (64+64+18=146, +4=150)
The blocks of 8x8 squares could also be divided horizontally by a p3k3 welt across all.
By chance, there's a similar effect on the King Charles silk tunic.=Tamarnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798291436358447813.post-56174208805773391692011-03-18T20:25:46.676-04:002011-03-18T20:25:46.676-04:00I think you have the large blocks correct, but you...I think you have the large blocks correct, but you need 6 rows of the large blocks, alternating the blocks of knit and purl every 8 rows as you suspect. I think that they're just using plaid and check interchangeably.

A gore would be like a dart as far as I know.Knittingandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06232138760041771165noreply@blogger.com
